Little Wing: Stevie Ray Vaughn Covers HendrixBy Patrick on January 27, 2010 · 4 Comments Ohh my……isn’t this just a masterful bit of guitar work. I mean, Hendrix’s original was sweet enough but…whoa! Stevie Ray Vaughn absolutely masters this cover of Little Wing. Reply Patrick says: January 28, 2010 at 10:46 pmYou know, I’ve never listened to either guitarist enough to become a fan. Hmmm… I should spend some more time with them. If this song is any indication, I’m missing out on some exquisite music. Reply Gary says: January 29, 2010 at 3:52 amThe Blues is a perfect genre of music to listen to with a friend, on a summer’s evening, on your front porch while cracking a few beers and cooking some tender meat on a red hot barbie. This song is thrilling and just soars. I have a few of SRV’s songs on my ipod; check out his version of the Beatle’s Taxman and The Sky is Crying. Stevie died in a helicopter crash. His music shines on. Thanks for posting! Reply Patrick says: January 29, 2010 at 9:34 am The blues is also great for dancing on the grass with a couple hundred other people — not too far from the beer tent — for a whole weekend in Vancouver’s David Lam Park. This, of course, would be during the Vancouver International Jazz Festival’s last weekend ’round the end of every June. A yummy weekend for blues fans. But there’s blues, and then there’s this transcendant performance of a spectacularly beautiful song. :) ReplyLeave a Reply Cancel reply This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
